SanDisk Stock at $1,695: Key Support and Live Levels

SanDisk Pinched Above $1,695 Support: Key Live Levels

SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) is sitting close to a technically important support area after a sharp September rally gave way to several volatile sessions.

The stock closed at $1,709.86 on September 29, after trading between $1,693.97 and $1,749.29 during the session. That means SanDisk briefly moved below the $1,695 area before recovering, leaving the support zone under pressure rather than cleanly breaking it.

The technical significance of $1,695 comes from several indicators. Investing.com's latest technical data place the 100-day moving average around $1,696.80, while classic pivot calculations identify $1,695.82 as a lower support reference.

For investors, the key question is whether SanDisk can stabilize around this zone or whether a sustained break would expose the stock to deeper downside levels.

SanDisk Stock Has Entered a High-Volatility Phase

SanDisk's September trading has been unusually volatile.

The stock closed at $1,519.97 on September 16, surged to $1,614.39 on September 17 and then jumped another 11% on September 18 to close at $1,791.82. It subsequently reached $1,887.04 on September 22 before pulling back to $1,709.86 by September 29.

That sequence illustrates why individual technical levels need to be interpreted carefully.

A move of several percentage points in either direction can occur within a single session, meaning a brief break below $1,695 does not necessarily establish a lasting trend reversal.

The September 29 session is particularly relevant because the stock traded down to $1,693.97, almost exactly testing the $1,695 reference before closing higher.

Why $1,695 Is Important

The $1,695 area is supported by multiple technical references.

Investing.com's September 29 data showed the 100-day simple moving average at $1,696.80. Its pivot table also placed the S3 level at $1,695.82.

Another technical snapshot placed the 100-day moving average at approximately $1,699.75, while its classic S3 level was $1,695.82.

The exact figure varies slightly depending on the calculation time and data feed, but the broader message is consistent: $1,695–$1,700 is a meaningful technical zone.

If the stock repeatedly finds buyers around this area, it could become a short-term base. If it begins closing decisively below the zone, attention would shift toward lower moving averages and previous price levels.

Immediate Support Below $1,695

The first major downside reference below $1,695 is around $1,650–$1,670.

The recent trading history provides evidence that this region has already attracted substantial buying interest. On September 28, SanDisk dropped as low as $1,659.02 before recovering and closing at $1,712.89.

That session is important because it demonstrates how quickly buyers have previously responded to sharp declines.

Below that zone, the 200-day moving average becomes increasingly relevant. Depending on the calculation time, the 200-day simple moving average was around $1,630–$1,633, according to recent technical data.

Therefore, a sustained break through $1,695 could potentially bring $1,660 and then the $1,630 area into focus.

Those are technical reference points, not guaranteed price targets.

Resistance Is Building Above $1,710

The stock also faces several layers of resistance on any recovery.

Recent technical calculations put the central pivot around $1,710–$1,714, with the first resistance level around $1,717–$1,722 depending on the calculation period.

The 20-day moving average is considerably higher, around $1,735–$1,746, while the 50-day moving average is around $1,776.

This creates a layered technical structure:

  • $1,695–$1,700: immediate support zone

  • $1,710–$1,714: pivot/recovery area

  • $1,717–$1,725: first resistance band

  • $1,735–$1,750: short-term moving-average resistance

  • $1,775–$1,780: 50-day moving-average region

  • $1,815: recent September high area

  • $1,887–$1,900: September peak region

A sustained recovery would therefore have to overcome several technical hurdles rather than just one price level.

Momentum Has Weakened, but the Longer Trend Remains Important

The technical indicators are mixed.

Investing.com's September 29 technical dashboard showed RSI(14) around 40, MACD at approximately -19.24, and several shorter-term indicators signaling weakness. The 20- and 50-day moving averages were also above the stock price.

At the same time, the 100-day and 200-day moving averages remained below the stock price, which provides a different perspective on the longer trend.

For beginners, this distinction matters.

A stock can have weak short-term momentum while still trading above longer-term trend measures. That is why a decline toward $1,695 does not automatically mean the entire bullish structure has failed.

The market needs to establish whether the current move is simply a correction or the beginning of a larger trend change.

SanDisk's Business Fundamentals Have Changed Dramatically

The technical setup becomes more interesting when viewed alongside SanDisk's latest financial performance.

For fiscal 2026, SanDisk reported $20.25 billion in revenue, up 175% from $7.36 billion a year earlier. GAAP gross margin increased to 71.5% from 30.1%, while GAAP net income reached $11.43 billion, compared with a $1.64 billion loss in fiscal 2025.

The most important structural change has been the growth of the data-center business.

Fiscal 2026 data-center revenue reached $5.15 billion, up 437% year over year. Edge revenue increased 195% to $12.16 billion, while consumer revenue rose 29% to $2.94 billion.

That mix shift is important because SanDisk is increasingly exposed to data-storage demand associated with data centers and AI infrastructure.

Q4 Showed How Powerful the Data-Center Shift Has Become

SanDisk's fiscal fourth quarter demonstrated the acceleration even more clearly.

Revenue reached $8.97 billion, up 51% sequentially. Data-center revenue more than doubled sequentially to $2.98 billion, while Edge revenue increased 48% to $5.43 billion. Consumer revenue, by contrast, declined 32% sequentially to $556 million.

The company's Q4 gross margin was 84.6%, compared with 78.4% in the previous quarter.

Management attributed the revenue improvement to a combination of higher volumes and higher pricing, with approximately one-third of the sequential increase coming from volume and two-thirds from pricing.

That is an important factor for investors watching SNDK.

The current earnings story is not simply about selling more storage products. Pricing, product mix and exposure to higher-value customers are playing a major role in profitability.

Q1 Fiscal 2027 Guidance Sets a High Bar

SanDisk expects fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion, with non-GAAP diluted EPS of $44 to $46. The company expects non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 83% to 85%.

The revenue guidance implies another sequential increase from the already strong $8.97 billion Q4 result.

That creates an important fundamental catalyst for SNDK.

The stock has experienced a huge repricing, so investors will likely pay close attention not only to whether revenue continues rising, but also to whether pricing remains favorable and margins stay elevated.

The Biggest Fundamental Risk: Memory Cycles

SanDisk operates in a memory and storage market that can be highly cyclical.

Prices can rise rapidly when supply is tight and demand accelerates, but the same industry can experience significant margin pressure when supply expands faster than demand.

That makes SanDisk's current margins particularly important to monitor.

The company guided to a fiscal Q1 2027 gross margin range of 83.0%–84.9% on a GAAP basis and 83.0%–85.0% on a non-GAAP basis.

If future results show that pricing and product mix remain strong, the elevated earnings profile could receive additional support. If pricing weakens or supply conditions change, the market could reassess the sustainability of current margins.

Buyback Adds Another Variable

SanDisk also expanded its share-repurchase authorization.

The board approved an additional $14 billion buyback, bringing the total remaining authorization to $15.5 billion at the end of fiscal 2026.

Buybacks can reduce the number of shares outstanding and potentially increase earnings per share over time, although the financial effect depends on execution, valuation and future operating performance.

For SNDK investors, the buyback is therefore a supporting factor rather than a substitute for continued earnings growth.

What Investors Should Watch Next

For SanDisk stock, the immediate technical battle is concentrated around $1,695–$1,700.

The September 29 low of $1,693.97 shows that the area has already been tested. A sustained recovery above $1,717–$1,725 would improve the short-term structure, while a decisive move below the $1,695–$1,700 zone would make the September 28 low near $1,659 and the longer-term moving-average area near $1,630 more relevant.

But the next major driver may ultimately come from fundamentals rather than the chart.

SanDisk's data-center growth, pricing environment, gross margins and fiscal Q1 2027 results will determine whether the extraordinary earnings acceleration seen in fiscal 2026 can continue.

For now, $1,695 is the key technical line to monitor, while $1,717–$1,725 and $1,735–$1,750 represent progressively higher recovery hurdles. The stock's unusually large price swings mean confirmation from both price action and upcoming business results will be important.
