Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifiers Launched in India: Price

Xiaomi Mijia Launches Two New Air Purifiers in India: Price and Features

Xiaomi has expanded its smart-home portfolio in India with the launch of two new air purifiers under its Mijia by Xiaomi brand. The new Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact target very different room sizes and price segments, giving consumers options ranging from a compact bedroom purifier to a higher-capacity model designed for larger homes.

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is priced at ₹19,999, while the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact costs ₹7,999. Both models are scheduled to go on sale in India from September 2, 2026, through Xiaomi's online and offline retail channels as well as Amazon, Flipkart and Blinkit.

The launch also marks an important step for Xiaomi's Mijia brand in India, with air purification becoming one of its first product categories in the country.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6: Price and Key Features

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the more premium model of the two. Xiaomi says it is designed for spacious Indian homes and can cover rooms of up to 940 sq ft under specified conditions. Its effective coverage range is listed at 312–538 sq ft, while the larger 940 sq ft figure is based on two air changes per hour.

One of its biggest selling points is Xiaomi's PentaClean system, which combines five-stage filtration with five types of air-quality sensing.

The five filtration stages include:

  • Primary filtration

  • Xiaomi high-efficiency filtration

  • UVC sterilisation

  • Fresh negative ions

  • Activated carbon

The purifier also monitors PM1, PM2.5, dust, temperature and humidity through its five-sensor AQI monitoring system.

This gives users more information about indoor air quality than a purifier that monitors only PM2.5.

443m³/h CADR and Rapid Purification

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 has a Particle CADR of 443m³/h and a formaldehyde CADR of 218m³/h, according to Xiaomi's India specifications. CADR, or Clean Air Delivery Rate, measures how quickly a purifier can deliver filtered air.

Xiaomi says the purifier can provide fresh air to a 108 sq ft room in around 3.5 minutes under its specified testing conditions.

That figure should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every room will reach a particular AQI level in 3.5 minutes. Room size, ceiling height, doors, ventilation, pollution levels and operating mode can all influence actual performance.

The purifier also offers a low-noise Sleep Mode rated at 32.1dB(A). Auto Mode can adjust fan speed based on detected indoor air quality, while Manual Mode gives users control over the purification level.

Five-Layer Filtration Targets More Than PM2.5

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is not limited to fine-particle filtration.

Its high-efficiency filter is rated by Xiaomi to remove 99.98% of 0.3-micron fine particle pollutants under specified testing conditions. The activated-carbon layer is designed to address formaldehyde, total volatile organic compounds and household odours.

The built-in UVC module is another feature Xiaomi highlights. The company reports a 99.99% one-hour H1N1 virus removal rate under its test conditions, along with high removal rates for several bacteria.

These are laboratory/test claims rather than a guarantee of infection prevention or health outcomes in every household.

Smart Controls and Filter Monitoring

Like several Xiaomi home appliances, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 connects to the Xiaomi Home app.

Users can monitor air quality, remotely control the purifier, schedule operation and check filter life through the app. Voice control is also supported through compatible smart-home devices using Alexa and Google Assistant.

The purifier can also notify users when the filter needs replacement. Xiaomi recommends replacement at approximately one year depending on usage, air quality and operating conditions.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact: A More Affordable Option

The second launch is aimed at consumers who do not need a large-room purifier.

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact costs ₹7,999 and is designed for spaces of around 400 sq ft or more, according to launch reports. It can also be used in bedrooms, study areas and home offices.

Unlike the five-stage system of the Air Purifier 6, the Compact model uses a 3-in-1 filtration system incorporating a primary/HEPA filtration layer, high-efficiency filtration and activated carbon. Xiaomi says it can capture 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns under specified conditions.

The Compact model also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification, according to the company and launch reports.

20dB Sleep Mode and Smart App Support

The Air Purifier 4 Compact is designed to be small and relatively quiet.

Its Sleep Mode is rated at around 20dB, while the device weighs approximately 2.2kg, making it easier to place on a table, desk or floor. Xiaomi also provides Auto, Sleep and Manual modes.

The purifier connects to the Xiaomi Home app and supports Alexa and Google Assistant. A four-colour indicator provides a simple visual representation of indoor air quality.

Xiaomi says continuous operation at maximum power for 24 hours uses approximately 0.65kWh under specified conditions. Actual electricity consumption will vary depending on operating mode and usage.

Xiaomi Also Brings Back Air Purifier 4 Lite

Alongside the two Mijia launches, Xiaomi has reintroduced the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite in India at ₹12,999.

The 4 Lite sits between the two new models in terms of price. It offers a Particle CADR of up to 360m³/h and an effective coverage range of 269–463 sq ft. It uses a three-layer filtration system comprising a primary filter, high-efficiency filter and activated carbon.

This gives Xiaomi a three-product air-purifier lineup covering different room sizes and budgets.

ModelPriceTarget Use
Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6₹19,999Larger homes and rooms
Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite₹12,999Medium-sized rooms
Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact₹7,999Bedrooms, studies and smaller spaces

Sale Date and Where to Buy

The two new Mijia models will be available in India from September 2, 2026.

Consumers will be able to purchase them through mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive Stores.

At launch, Xiaomi has positioned the Air Purifier 4 Compact as the entry point at ₹7,999, while the Air Purifier 6 occupies the premium end at ₹19,999.

Why the Launch Matters for Xiaomi

The launch is significant beyond the two products themselves.

Xiaomi is using Mijia to expand its presence in India's smart-home and lifestyle appliance market. Air purifiers are a logical starting category because consumers increasingly want connected appliances that can monitor conditions and be controlled remotely.

The company is also entering a market where established players already compete on filtration technology, room coverage, noise and smart features. Xiaomi's advantage will therefore depend not only on specifications, but also on pricing, replacement-filter availability, after-sales service and long-term product reliability.

For consumers, the choice between the two new Mijia models is relatively straightforward: the Air Purifier 6 is aimed at larger spaces and offers a more extensive sensing and filtration system, while the 4 Compact is designed as a cheaper, smaller-room option.

What Buyers Should Check Before Purchasing

Air purifier specifications can sometimes be confusing, so buyers should look beyond headline claims.

The most important factors are:

  • Actual room size and ceiling height

  • Particle CADR

  • Filter replacement cost

  • Availability of replacement filters

  • Noise during Sleep Mode

  • Electricity consumption

  • App and smart-home compatibility

  • Local warranty and after-sales support

A purifier with a higher coverage rating is not automatically better for every room. For a small bedroom, a compact model may provide better value than paying extra for capacity that is not needed.

The Bottom Line

Xiaomi's Mijia launch gives Indian consumers two new options at very different price points. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact at ₹7,999 focuses on affordability and small-room use, while the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 at ₹19,999 brings five-stage filtration, five-sensor air-quality monitoring and coverage of up to 940 sq ft under specified conditions.

The real test will come after these products reach consumers and their long-term filter costs, performance and reliability become clearer. For Xiaomi, meanwhile, the launch represents another step in building a broader smart-home ecosystem in India.
